Dave Lewis, SR. co-founded Matrix Tool, Inc. in 1972 and served as the Company President until his retirement in 2007. Dave achieved Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification through the state of Pennsylvania after completing a four year apprenticeship at Tri-Penn Tool in Erie, PA. Under Dave’s guidance and leadership, Matrix Tool evolved from a two person repair shop to a full service manufacturing operation specializing in the design and construction of precision plastic and metal injection molds and the injection molding of precision thermoplastic components. While retired, Dave continues to follow the activities of the business and provides guidance and direction to his sons, Dave, Tim and Greg on organizational matters.

Dave Lewis, SR.
Tim Lewis
Tim Lewis is the Company President and one of the co-owners of Matrix Tool, Inc. He oversees the management and strategic planning efforts of the company to support daily business activities and long term growth initiatives. In addition, he oversees the administrative functions of the organization, including accounting, human resources, payroll, and overall management team coordination. Tim joined the company in 1993 after working as an internal management consultant with Sony Engineering and Manufacturing of America and Sony Magnetic Products of America. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Dayton and a Master’s Degree from the University of Akron.
Dave Lewis, JR.
Dave Lewis, JR. is the Vice President of Tooling / Engineering and one of the co-owners of Matrix Tool, Inc. His day to day duties involve management of the Mold Design Division, coordination of tooling RFQs, coordinating of project management activities associated with full-service contracts, and completing customer relations duties to support sales and customer service needs. Dave joined Matrix in 1986 after graduating from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial / Engineering Technology. In addition, Dave achieved Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification through the state of Pennsylvania after completing a four year tooling apprenticeship during his initial tenure with Matrix Tool, Inc.
Scott Elmquist
Scott Elmquist is the Tooling Division Manager here at Matrix Tool, Inc. He oversees the planning and project management of all mold construction work in the Tooling Division, including new mold programs, major mold refurbishment projects, and new mold conditioning / debug efforts. Scott joined the industry after completing a four year apprenticeship and achieved Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification through the state of Pennsylvania. Scott has been in the industry for decades and brings years of expertise in mold design and project management, with extensive experience managing his own tool and die shop.
David Moyak
David Moyak is the General Manager of the Molding Division and oversees all aspects of the molding operation to ensure the manufacture of plastic injection components that meet customer requirements. Dave’s primary duties include the coordination of quoting and pricing activities relating to plastic parts, project management activities associated with new product validation / approval and customer relations duties to support divisional sales and customer service needs. Dave joined the Matrix team in 1998 after gaining experience in the industry as a production scheduler and cost estimating engineer. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Plastics Engineering and an MBA from Penn State Behrend.
Tom Moyak
Tom Moyak is the Director of Business and Engineering Development for Matrix Tool, Inc. He coordinates the sales and marketing efforts of the company while focusing on customer relations. Tom has a very hands-on, diverse and technical background in plastics manufacturing. His primary areas of expertise include new product design and development, project management, lean manufacturing implementation, and process engineering, troubleshooting and training, and his expertise spans the major plastics manufacturing processes. He is equally adept behind the controls of an injection molding machine as he is behind those of a CAD workstation. He is a graduate of Penn State’s Plastics Engineering Technology program, and has worked for injection molders in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Alabama. Tom has also provided engineering outreach for Penn State University through their Plastics Technology Center to assist customers with solutions to their injection molding challenges.
Jason Plaster
Jason Plaster is the Manufacturing Manager of the Molding Division and oversees all aspects of the production floor to ensure the manufacture of plastic injection components meet customer requirements. Jason’s primary duties include the planning and managing of production processes and personnel to meet customer requirements and deliveries. Jason joined the Matrix team in 2005 after gaining experience in the industry as a Process and Project Engineer. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Plastics Engineering from Penn State Behrend.
Toby Buerk
Toby Buerk is the Mold Conditioning Manager in the Plastics Division. He oversees all aspects of the mold repair and changeover operations to help ensure the manufacture of plastic injection components meet customer requirements. Toby’s primary duties include the coordination and planning of all mold repair, debug and changeover orders. He also manages the personnel needed to maintain the condition of production tooling in support of production targets and customer delivery requests. Toby joined the Matrix team in 2005 after gaining valuable experience in the plastics industry in positions ranging from Process to Project Engineer. Toby holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Plastics Engineering from Penn State Behrend.
Jeff Brusco
Jeff Brusco is the Quality Assurance Manager for Matrix Tool, Inc. He oversees all aspects of the quality assurance function as it relates to the manufacturing of plastic injection molded components. Jeff’s primary duties include the overall coordination of quality related methodologies and procedures needed to meet customer requirements from initial component release through production. Jeff initially joined Matrix Tool, Inc. in 2012 as a Plastics Process Engineer Intern while he was completing his undergraduate studies. He joined the Matrix team as a full time Process Development Engineer in 2013. Jeff gained valuable plastics manufacturing processing experiences through mold trialing, debug activities, and daily production duties during his tenure as a Process Development Engineer. Jeff holds a Bachelor or Science Degree in Plastics Engineering from Penn State Behrend.
