Metrics That Matter

Matrix takes Continuous Improvement to a whole other level with our focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).  Each Manager at Matrix reports on Business Metrics during our weekly, quarterly and annual meetings.   More than a dozen major KPI’s are tracked and acted upon regularly, and posted throughout the plant for review by all team members.  In addition, there are dozens of other KPI projects that are implemented throughout each business year to proactively drive continuous improvements and preventive actions.

More Than a Box to Check

It’s not uncommon for Matrix to implement 50 - 100 KPI projects in a given year. Tracking our KPI’s helps us to focus on achieving both customer driven objectives and planned, company-initiated goals as part of our continuous improvement process. Some of the main KPI’s we track include On-Time Delivery, Internal Reject Rates, Customer Delivered Part Quality (PPM), Capacity Trends, Quality Scores, Unscheduled Downtime, and Vendor On-Time Delivery to name a few. We are committed to continuous improvement and work to proactively manage our operation to ensure that our major KPI’s trend in a positive direction.

Technology Keys to Success

Matrix has adopted a plant wide use of in-mold, RJG technology. We have RJG certified master molders on site who train all our molding processors, technicians and quality staff as well. Matrix uses RJG, decoupled-3 technology—which provides the greatest control of the process and part quality. Before the mold opens we already know if a good part is being produced. These closed loop systems are also equipped with part diverters in the event molding parameters are exceeded during the molding cycle. These real-time systems provide real-time performance you can depend on.
